    Your right the display shows some strange number, I always thought it represented something complicated I didn't care to figure out. I go by the knob but I always do a practice arc for a few seconds to see if it's set up right. I do that with every machine though.

    i can see where that would definately be confusing..... not sure that i like that....hmmmm...... but, i can also see where it takes away the crutch of the amperage display and would teach you how to read the puddle.....

    i wonder if there are any cures for that, because most time, i dont have the time to try and adjust and try and adjust and then try again..... i really enjoy analog meters.....they dont lie (especially when code work is involved)
