This looks like a sweet machine. I was originally looking to get a miller maxstar like what I have been using at work but this might be the new champ due to its affordability. Lets see some tigging videos.

Dave just got mine running yesterday. scratch starts on stick are very easy, I find if i angle the rod a fair ammount on the scratch it wont stick. then go verticle is for my weld. I re-welded my angle iron fenders back on to the trailer with 6011 and it worked well. I originally put them together with my o/a set but hadent recieved the right tip in for the one that fell off. The stick made repairing and reconnecting that side a 10-15 min of welding and about 20-30 of metal prep. I love 4" wire brushes that go on the grinder I welded in several corners and then ground them out to verify they were clean welds. I then re welded every thing together. I doubt they will fall off a second time. I did the same for the bale stacker project which had 1" square tubing that was 2x as thick or so as the angle it was welded to. between those 2 projects and repairing of the toungue on my wagon I had used up a couple weekends with the oa torch. with the stick here I probably could have done them all in 1 day. would still have been stuck using oa on the toungue to straighten the metal out. but welding would have zipped through.

Im still a noob welder but this machine was not hard to get decent welds from.
