Just weld it with skill. Practice, Practice etc..

Is there a specific area you are having problems with?

check the rod chart and use the recomended rod, DO NOT use 7018, it leaves inclusions on down hill runs and they will reject the weld.

My error, I forgot to mention 7018 is great running up hill, but it leaves bad inclusions downhill....it can be run flat, overhead, or uphill, but not recommended downhill...experience taught me that...thanks for correcting my mistakes...

Bikespot, I am 72 years old, been welding since we had to use two boy scouts, rubbing them together to get heat, I got tons of Info that I would love to share, but you have to give me a hint of your problem..the one I answered was about getting certified, hints are easy to come by, but after years of welding I need your input...Even after all these years, I finally tried Plasma and just love it, we all learn some from old foggies and from the young bucks just starting out, we all can learn if we just watch and listen...God bless

What kind of welding do you mainly do or have you been doing all processes?

I do primarily fabrication, and I am an inventor, did a lot of research and development in the oil fields and a lot of blow out prevention fabrification. I do a lot of stick welding and wire too...mostly small stuff with wire, up to 3/8 to 1/2 inch plate. I am presently working on a "used motor oil heater" for work shop use. as you know used motor oil is easy to get and usually free.. The EPA has stated the only way to get rid of used motor oil is to refine it or burn it...What better way to heat a shop, but with free fuel (used motor oil) so far it works good and creats a bunch of BTU's ..BUT, the problem is, I am not too graceful, while putting in an air line from my compressor to the back of the shop, I fell 12 foot and shattered my left heal and broke my left arm. working in a wheel chair is not fun, especially when you get caught by your wife and the dr. told you to stay off your foot...oh well, I been in trouble before..a couple more months and I will be back on both feet and back to working..bye the way. this heater is made almost completely from scrap parts found around your shop...and of course donated stuff other people don't want....Have a great day...

Used motor oil , i have never heard of that being used as a fuel. Interesting , would it be possible to use it in an engine for fuel?

    Get back on your feet.
