    1995 Toyota Tacoma

A friend of mine got rid of his 1995 Tacoma because it had a rusted frame. He bought a new one and said if I built him a lumber rack for the new truck that I could have the old truck. The old one doesn't look to bad but I haven't gotten under it and banged around with a hammer. So now I have two welding projects and a truck.

I've always thought that a nice hemi V8 out of a Toyota, or Nissan truck would be a really nice engine for a hot-rod/street-rod. The traditional small block chevy guys would have their noses out of joint, but that would be half the fun of it, aside from having a very sweet running ride.

Sorry I didn't have a picture of the truck when I first got it.

This is truck I got. I am planning on just using it as a truck. The back of the frame is rusty and the bumper is the shape of a bumper but it is all rust. I will probably wait a bit before I tear into it I have enough projects without adding another one.

I am going to start building the lumber rack this afternoon so I will have pictures of that.

Yup it is a 4 banger 2wd. It is close to what I would pick out if I bought a truck. The only think I would change is to add 4wd.

It is pretty basic truck but for $275 in metal and some labor building the lumber rack I think it is a good deal. It is a bit more useful for carrying stuff around than my old honda civic...

Nice deal!! The Tacoma trucks are notorious for a rusted frame, some of them actually bend, when you fix it do it right.
