    Who makes the smallest Ironworker?

I'd really like to have one of these. Does anyone make a "hobby" sized unit? One that fits a smaller home shop. Preferably hydraulic!

No not that I know of. Some companies do make some attatchments for a shop press.

The smallest I have seen is the Edwards 25ton. which is an excellent light duty commercial machine. Costly for a small fab or hobby size shop.

    maybe I'll design one! Hmmmm

That's about the smallest I've seen. Any smaller they are kind of useless.

I think 25 tons is about the smallest I would find useful. It takes about that to punch a 1" hole in 1/4" mild steel.

Check out this Metal Master its an A frame press that has a lot of the same functions as an Ironworker. It has a small footprint and a 50 ton jack in it, but I can't find anything on the cost and the company is based in Canada. Maybe there's a company that makes a similar design that's based here in the States. It might be worth looking into.

Boy that metal master looks like the cat's meow but would think it comes at a price beyond most hobby shops. But thanks for the link. I just started the build process yesterday on a power unit and will source the metal for the press next week.

Eelxactly what I said they make attatchments for your shop
press. I would love to have a iron worker myself but space doesn't allow for one.

That looks like a pretty neat option. It has some disadvantages in my opinion for a full time fab shop, but it has some really nice features too. I would imagine the price for that 50 ton machine versus a 50 ironworker may be substantial.

I wish there was pricing listed somewhere.
