    Update

My old slide had a little play in it so I am in the process of converting it to this setup. it should have no slop and it's way smaller. i was loosing around 4 inches of travel with the old setup. this one should be around 1.

the cylinder was bought at www.automationdirect.com for like 30 bucks. it's 1 1/16" diameter with 3'' stroke and internal return spring. the block and rail were bought on ebay for about 40. the rail is 6'' long. the block is close to 1''x1''.
