    Thanksgiving Special

I just got a phone call from Longevity, calling to finalize the Thanksgiving Special order that I placed yesterday.

First off I didn't think I'd get it. Special offers never seem to work for me. Second, the first order sorta went off into "phototronics land" although the second one went through.

Now I have a real problem. Waiting for it to get here! But all that adrenaline will come in handy... clearing space in the garage!

This is the first thing that has gone right for me this year and might just be the turn-around that I need!

    Thanks Jesse!

I know there's a bunch of you that placed orders. Hang in there! Most of my welding has been on Miller Dynasty 200's. Can't wait to see how well a LS-200PI stacks up against one. Kinda think it won't much of a difference.

I hope you have fun with the 200pi. I am happy with my 520c but if that deal had been around before I got my welder I would have jumped on it. It would be interesting to compare the two machines.

Thanks for the welcome KHK. I too am very interested in how it compares to the Miller. Don't get me wrong, the Dynasty is one impressive piece of equipment but the price tag is enough to really discourage anyone except for the real professionals.

Matteh99: the only thing that I see that the 520D doesn't do is AC. Am I correct? If so and you don't have a need to weld alum, it's practically the same machine. At least to me since TIG is practically a foreign language.

That dual voltage feature has got to come in handy. I know I was looking at the same unit very seriously just because of that. The guy that wired my garage had a thing for 20A circuits but nothing in the 240V range which means I'm going to have redo a circuit or two.

It might take me a bit to get it going but I'll let you know how it works and what I think of it.

I'm just waiting to see what Simon and Jesse cook up next...

    Max,
The main difference AC for Tig Welding. It also has pulse for TIG. It will pulse up to a higher current while welding. I don't know exactly what that is for. The plasma cutter on the 200PI has pilot arc start. The 200PI has similar core specs but with every feature being slightly better than the 520D.

I haven't tried my machine on 120v yet. I may make an adapter but so far I have only used it in my dad's shop and he has a 240 outlet all setup. It is a nice thing to have though.

The 200PI will work on 240VAC only. The 520D is a multi voltage machine 120VAC or 220VAC
