I used the tape. I ended up having to crank the gauge down another 1/8th of a turn or so to get that leak to stop. I am still leaking a bit of air around far side of the desiccator filter that I added, but that's not Longevity's fault.

    Inot,

Thanks for the informative review. If you are still experiencing air leaks, please give us a call and we will have a new air regulator shipped. Unfortunately, the air regulator is not tested during the testing process to save time and keep customer orders flowing.

Also, make sure you use a lot of teflon to secure the air hose inlets/outlets.

    Thanks

In stick it fluctuates because of arc length which will change amperage it arc force is used.

I re-applied teflon tape and tightened up the gauge and that stopped the leak there. The other leak I have is due to a cheap Harbor Freight desiccator/filter that I added inline between the Longevity regulator and the inlet, so that one is my fault.

I bought one of them cheap filters from HF too. As long as the air is cold it is air tight but once it warms up the seals blow out. Pretty worthless.

I haven't tried to see what the display reads while welding. Maybe I can get my wife to watch.

After reading Matteh's post I went out to the garage and watched the readout with the machine at idle for various dial settings. It looks like the display is actually in the ballpark for both TIG and Plasma, with readings that max out a bit above the published figures.

I suppose the closest to you would be Worcester or Springfield. It's worth stopping in to look around if you happen to be in the area. They pack a lot of stuff into those little stores.
