250PI is here and hooked UP!

I got my 250PI this week, and man I am excited. So far, Ive only used the plasma cutter, but have plans later down the road for the TIG. The new torches are so much better than the old style, and I dont think I could ever go back. Anybody thinking about getting one, dont hesitate.

Well so far here is what I can say about my 250PI. I have used the plasma often. It has plenty of power. I wish my hand was more steady, and it has done everything I wanted. I will post some pics soon of a horse profile I cut out to hang in my parents barn. I have used the Arc welder too. Man, it burned hot and clean. I loved it, and have thought about selling my Gas Motor driven Honda welder since then. I have just got the TIG hooked up today and was playing with it. I cant really say much about the TIG as I havent figured out all of the settings and processes yet. I wish the manual was a little more detailed for noobys like myself. Ill post more as I get it figured out.

On a side note, I took the hose from the Argon tank and installed a quick release that will allow me to quickly switch from Argon to Compressed Air when I want to Tig or Plasma cut. I liked this idea better than some sort of lever to switch between the two.

Last thing, Glad the forum is finally working!

    Longivity A/C-D/C 250amp tig machine

TJ: Does the Longivity machine allow you to hook up another type torch (welcraft) and more argon hose so you don't have to tote the machine out of the shop. I am fixing to buy that particular machine, but I need to be able to extend out to approx. 45'. Also, what is your overall view of the Longivity products . Thanks Don Straitwell

Im not sure about the non branded torch hose, but if you call the hotline during business hours Im sure Simon or Jessie can help you, there very knowledgeable. As far as my impression of the products from Longevity, I love them. I would be more confident in the company taking care of me than I would someone like Miller or Lincoln. The few issues I had (what Id consider normal for electronics) was solved quickly and with no hassle. As far as performance, the machines have always worked the way I would expect it to.

TJ: thanks for the input. I will call Jesse tomorrow (Wed.) and ask him several questions. I have talked with him before and he seemed very Knowledgeable. I am sure there is some way to overcome this issue. I weld on a lot of boats and can't get some of them into the shop. Don

I have a 200PI and have recently set it up for CNC plasma. The CNC torch had a different fitting on it and it would not fit the welders din connector. I went to the local welding supply(big Blue) to buy a adapter fitting. They could not match the fittings that were on the torch or machine. I then went to a local hardware store and found that the fittings were SAE fittings which they did not have. I then went to an auto parts store and they had the fitting that I needed. But the fitting was large, so I bought the male fitting and made that work. The fittings on the 200PI are SAE fittings and I think that that is the standard used in welding.
