After almost two years of research, I ordered a Longevity

I just placed an order for a Weldall 200PI yesterday. I started looking for a welder almost two years ago. I built a new shop and began to upgrade my tools. I have a couple of requirements, tools must be energy efficient, must be compact, must be multi-functional if possible, and must be cost effective. I went to www.weldingweb.com to get info on welders. Among others, I found Longevity, and was curious about the multi-function machines. They fit the bill, but I had never heard of the company. I've learned in the past that it's all about the service you get on equipment, so I leaned toward the "known" brands. But the price points for the Longevitys kept me looking at the companies offerings and following the feedback from the forum. I noticed a couple of things, one was the massive flaming from the "only known named equipment is good" crowd. I was very impressed how Simon and others responded in a most professional and curtious way, never making the opposition wrong, just touting the good points of their equipment and politely telling them to be constructive or go away. Nicer than I might be. Another was how pleased and loyal the customers are. There are far more positive postings than negative ones, that impressed me. Most important was how the company responded to issues. Fast and personal. You just don't get that from many companies these days. I've seen boards for other companies with post after post about problems, and not a peep from "the company". When I added all of the pluses and minuses, Longevity came out on top.

I've been saving for my welder since I started looking, baring a few emergences, I've kept on track and thought I have enough (I hadn't checked pricing in a while). So now I'm ready pretty much ready to buy, but I'm just a little bit short. Darn it! Well, I looked at the weldingweb.com Longevity forum and there is a message stating that there is a sale on and to call. So I did. I talked to Simon, then he put me in touch with Micheal Seager. Michael answered my remaining questions and put my last concerns to rest. Then back to Simon to finalize the deal and man was I surprised and pleased! I was able to get what I wanted and it fit my budget! It's is so refreshing to deal with real people that are concerned with pleasing their customers.

Now all I have to do is wait.... Is it here yet?

Good choice in your purchase Arcamm. The Longevity equipment is great and the service and customer support even better. Hope time flies for you (at least until you get your unit).

Arcamm, it's the waiting that is the worse. I look around for about 5 months ( or so?) and then pulled the trigger on a new plasma cutter. Every day I waited, I wondered why I hadn't just purchased it a few months ago. At my age I can't afford to wait too long

    happy welding

I'm pretty patient, this is not going to be easy! The good news is I got my tracking numbers! The bad news is the boxes won't be here until Dec. 1st.

That's 6 days 15 hours and a few minutes until UPS gets here.

Hey! If I post an hourly count down until the 2o0 arrives, that will give me 166 posts. That will cover the mig welder contest requirements!

    Be back in an hour....

UPS shows my welder made it to Baltimore. That means it will make Frederick tonight and be loaded for delivery tomorrow. I think I'm going to be late for work......
I think I should tape me unpacking the 200PI and post it on weldingweb.com. That kind of stuff seems to really irritate the flamers.
