LP-40D --- A new tool for the project
Hello all. I purchased the LP-40D last month. First off, let me say how impressed I was with the shipping. I ordered it on Friday and DHL delivered it Monday afternoon. It made it all the way to PA without a scratch.
I've been doing a frame off rebuild (not a restoration) on a 1966 Toyota Land Cruiser (FJ-40). I've been buying more tools than parts over the past year and I had a lot of tools to begin with. I've probably gone thru over 100 4-1/2" cutting wheels since the start. Never thought about plasma because of cost. I couldn't really justify the expense. Then, about 6 weeks ago while reading the forums at WW, I saw the name Longevity. After reading everything I could find on this company's products, I made the call. Wish I would have heard about you guys a year ago. The amount of time I could have saved... I don't want to think about it. Well anyway, here are a few pictures of the machine: ![]() It was like Christmas! ![]() Great packaging. Not a scratch. ![]() Out of the box. ![]() Front view ![]() From the back after mounting the regulator/water sep. ![]() In its new home under my mig. Thanks to all at Longevity for supplying an affordable plasma for those of us that can't justify "Name Brand". As far as I can see, fit, form and function are outstanding. Smitty

Been having so much fun cutting, I keep forgetting to snap some pics. I'll take some this weekend.

Cutting out 3/16" plate for brackets right now. My quarter panels are made out of the same material and I'll use it to trim them once I get the tub back on the frame. I've made a couple of brackets out of 3/8" that will be used to mount my anti-wrap bars on the rear axle. I also used it to clean old brackets off my axles. Sorry, no pictures yet. I'll take some of the finished products tonight.

Re: LP-40D --- A new tool for the project
I am interested in seeing how clean the cuts are and how much cleanign up they would take with a grinder afterward. I enjoy metal working, it is much more forgiving than wood. If you cut too much with metal, you can add more. As for wood, well board
s are getting in short supply these days.

Sorry I never got any pictures uploaded. Made a video the other day and upon review, I realized I moved between the camera and the cutting. It's a great video... if all you want to do is hear the machine in action. lol. Will see what I can come up with next weekend.
