    LS-200P troubleshooting

    Hi all.

I got my LS-200P about 5 weeks ago. unfortunately it didn`t work. Only thing witch is working is fans. I would like to fix the unit because chaincing the unit to new one would cost me about 500-600 USD. Unit had been handled roughly in the shipment, but I didn`t found any visible damages on the circuit boards (yet). I noticed that there is multible empty connectors on the boards. Is it possible that som wires are connected in the wrong blugs? Any suggestions where I should start looking the fault? I can take pictures of those wirings, if someone knows how they shoud be connected.

Here you can see a short video about what the LS-200P is doing

Can I have scematics of this machine? My friend is an electronic mechanic and he said that he could take a look of the unit if he just got those chematics. And by the way, do I loose the units warranty if I remove the boards and take a closer look of them?

    thank you

    Yes,

I will try to get some information for you right away! However, I suggest you take a look at the ground wire as well. Sometimes, if improperly wired, the fan will run, but the unit will not function.

You will need to ground the back of the unit and use the green with yellow as the ground from the three wires at the back.

    Re: LS-200P troubleshooting

    wiring is OK.

I looked closer some of the circuit boards and find next things so far:

board 1. behind the control panel
    - the flux has not been washed away after soldering the components on the board.
    - one burned resistor. resistans infinity, board is black around resistors legs.
    - capasitators other leg is loose of the board

board 2. next board after the board 1.
-one resistor is missing completely. only the legs are still there. board is black around next resistors legs.

board 3. that one where the power wires are going after the power switch.
    - lacquer coating looks little heated under yellow component connections.

And one of the fet connections in the top board looks like it has been little too warm.

Does anyone have any thoughts what could cause this?
How about those scematics? Or do you this is hopeless case?

I try to get some better pics and pics of other boards too soon.

    Econ,
If the boards have identification numbers try calling Simon to see if he will swap the boards for you instead of the entire unit. I don't know if he will do this but it might be worth a try.

    Simon,

Have you sent the boards yet?

Does it affect to warranty if I at the mean time:

    -replace the burned resistor,
-solder capacitators other leg back and
-wash the flux away with asetone?

    thanks

    No,

The warranty is not affected if you replace these parts as the board is defective. We will have new boards with a video of how to fix and replace the board at the end of March.

In the mean time, i can try to pull some boards for you from some of the other products. I am sorry for the delay. I got the pictures of the board on this forum, i will try to get something for you this week or next week.
