Welcome to the forum Joey. I don't have the 520 so I can't help but did want to welcome you to the forum. There are plenty of others with the 520 that can help. Simon has been rewriting the manuals, perhaps he has an updated one for that model.

Hello Joey and welcome to the forum. I think that the switch is for post gas flow. That is how long the gas flows after you are done welding/cutting. Either 2.5 or 5 seconds. Perhaps someone that has a 520D can verify this.

Just got my LC-518D today. Same switch, same question. I believe you are correct, but haven't verified yet.

KHK is correct. This switch sets the machine for more or less post flow air/gas. either 2.5 seconds of air after trigger is released or 5 seconds of air after trigger is released.

If you have any more questions about the machine that are not answered in the manual, share your thoughts here or shoot me a PM and I will be glad to answer it for you.

To keep the area from oxidizing after the weld. Makes it easier to start back up without any oxidation too.

The post flow knob Allows you to vury the post flow or the gas used after the weld is done. The 2.5 / 5 second swithh does the same thing but on a different machine. If you hold the torch near the weld after you have stoped welding the post flow will help to prevent oxidation of the weld. Use mainly on AL but is also usefull on SS, Steal, etc.
