    Variable trigger TIG torch

Is there such a thing as a variable trigger TIG torch, instead of the pedal?
It seems I am always welding in a position where it's d__n near impossible to use the pedal (close to the floor, kneeling etc.).
    Cheers,

It looks like what I'm needing Guy. Does the trigger control the current? What brand of torch is it (looks like a Miller)?

It's a Diamondback torch.I think it's made by miller. The button on the torch just activates the machine to start welding. The other rotor switch adjusts the amps up or down to the torch.I like the foot pedal better, but for those jobs you are talking about, you can't beat it.

learn to use your elbow on the pedal, or put it between your knees, shoulder or whatever.... wait til you have to be leaning off a ladder and pulling against the tag on a fall protect harness, welding overhead, and the pedal between your upper arm and your rib cage.... just sayin.... lol.... ck worldwide makes a rotary slide that adjusts amperage on the torch and it can easily be adapted to fit a longevity machine. the diamondback torch will take a lot more "doing" to get it to adapt over...

Thanks guys. I'm going to check out the CK worldwide. Weldcraft makes one, but it uses a 14pin torch connector, instead of the 7pin the LS200PI uses, so it might make things difficult.
The ladder experience I'm going to try to avoid if possible Stan. - - Some things are better left to the professionals!!

you also have to make sure that it has the right ohm pot in it for the machine you are attaching it too

...should be easy enough to read the pot resistance with an ohmmeter and buy a slider with the same value and run some wire. The extension I now use on my foot pedal works great, and it was simple enough to bodge together. I did NOT like bending down to the floor to make an adjustment !

MOF, a plug-in bypass could be wired up so you could have both.

Nice to be able to customize equipment for your own situations.

If you want to go to a slim line type of pedal rather than the "Dialarc type" of pedal go here for an after market pedal for Longevity; TIG Welding Foot Controller Pedal Cross Reference
I just hate it when the page address gets wiped out, any way it is scc controls, and you may have to call them as it may not be listed but I know that they have a pedal for Long.
