    lookin for an instructor

I am located in MInt Hill NC and would like to find an experienced weldor in the Greater Charlotte area that would be willing to come to my shop and give me some basic lessons on my machines both Mig and Tig, especially tig. I expect to compensate for your time and that can be discussed when we talk.
The best way to reach me is email at rmccrodden@gmail.com
    Thanks

Best of luck in your search. I signed up at the local CC for a couple welding classes (tig) and can't think of a bigger waste of time and money. If you've never welded before and wish to learn stick and work your way up the ladder it may be wrth the time. I went to sharpen my tig shills and the instructor MIGHT be better than I am at tig. I would rather have hired an experienced weldor like you are trying to do.

Thanks to the poster that recomended craigs list I put up an ad and was contacted by a fellow that is starting up a business that caters to just what I am looking for. An instructor that will come to my shop and teach me the things I need to know on my machines. Its called Carolina welding help and he is a former instructor, certified welder and welding inspector.
Hope it works out I will be meeting with him later this week or early next
    Thanks

That's a good idea. I tried the local CC because a friend of mine teaches machining there and suggested it to me.
A wheeling friend of mine met someone who said he is willing to teach me more about tig whenever I'm ready.
I guess he works in the food industry and I believe those guys have mad skills to pass all the cleanliness audits and such.
I'm sure I read that somewhere about the food industry and their stainless weldors.
Well I hope it works out for you Ray. You may get a friend out of it too. Either way I'm sure you'll be glad you met him for one reason or another.
    Good luck!

James The guy that is going to help me has welded in the food industry, structural, on ground armor vehicles, and was an instructor at two CC's he now has a certified welding inspection business and does this on the side to help hobbyists. I sure hope he works out. I really want to improve my mig and tig skills, its a matter of pride with me, I have always admired good looking welds and want to do that quailty work or at least do as well as I am able.
