    Robin Subaru 7500

I traded some service for this generator. It would not run but only had 320 hours on it so I took a chance. I had it serviced and now it starts runs well.
The issue is the auto idle function.
I had a buddy wanted to borrow it for some concrete grinding he was doing, we tested it and he said it needs a linkage from the throttle to .....somewhere, so that it throttles up or down depending on load. Is this correct? I do know that it will indeed only idle, and will not high idle. I know nothing about generators. It would be nice to understand a little more before I go back to the small engine repair Guy who told me its hooped and he should just take it off my hands (yeah right, I dont think so)
I have downloaded a manual and parts list and might try to check them out later.
    Any thoughts?

The generator should fun at a high rpm. This is where the engine has the best HP. and the frequency is at 60hz. If the engine is running at the wrong rpm you will have low or high frequency. The wrong frequency will cause electronic devises to smoke. Check the frequency with a frequency counter or scope...

Thanks Keith, I appreciate the reply. Not sure I have the skills to do what you suggest, but I did take a quick look at the troubleshooting sections and it might be that the idle screw needs adjustment, and nothing more. I will get it back next week, check it out and let you know.
