    New around these parts....

    Hello all,
I've been poking around this forum for a few days. I do not have a Longevity welder yet, but I'm looking to buy the Weldall 200PI (as long as the taxman is not too harsh on me).

That said, I currently have a Lincoln MIG welder that has served me well at home and I use a Miller stick/TIG and MIG units at work. I'm an engineer on a ship, so I do everything from electrical to plumbing to diesel repair/maintenance and yes, fabrication. One of the first questions that I was asked in my interview was, "can you weld?". Since then, I've turned into the go to guy when metal needs to get suck together.

So here are some pics of the stuff that I have made along the way. None of it was made w/ a Longevity machine, but hopefully that should change.

    My home welding bench:

Bracket to hang a deer feeder:

Jacking tool for baring an EMD 710 diesel engine over by hand:

    Water cooled light bulb

    Grinder Pedestal:

    Tool Boards:

Sounding Tube Plug Wrench (3/4" square)

Well, that's enough sharing for now.

    Current Equipment:
WeldAll 200PI, Lincoln HD3200 MIG welder, Rockwell 6x48 belt sander, Jet Horizontal Band Saw & a 1950's Craftsman Drill Press named Leroy.

That pic w/ the clamps is of the shop on the ship that I work on. I totally agree on not having too many clamps. When I first joined this ship, they had c-clamps all over the place to secure overhead hoists & things. I eventually reclaimed all of them and made clamps out of round stock, a nut and all thread. Now when I go back to work and I see 'my' clamps missing I get a little annoyed.

It is on the small side. 312', 8000 hp.

Here is a little info on it. The part about going down the Tennessee-Tombigbee waterway is now incorrect. They tried it once or twice and found that what should work in theory doesn't always work in practice.
