    From the Deep South.

Gidday, I am an ex-pat kiwi (New Zealander) residing in the US for the last 12 years.
I work as a Construction Superintendent here in North Little Rock Arkansas for a large Landscaping and Erosion Control Company.
I have been welding (Self Taught) since I left High School back in the 70s.
I have worked in construction all over the world using my fabrication and welding skills as a supplement to my occupation. I have been certified in MIG, TIG, Stick and Center Core Flux welding.
I have worked on High Rise projects, Shopping Complexes, Mining and Quarrying operations.
I taught my 17 year old son to weld and he in turn is helping teach his buddies at High School.
We build racing go karts together and my son races with a great deal of success. He has State and Track Championship titles for his hard work.
I am currently building a Barstool racer to take to car shows with our go karts. He is keen on going to Wyotech to become a technician on European Motorcycles.

Hi and welcome to the forum Mike. Sure sounds like you will be an asset to the forum with your extensive welding experience.
I always wanted a racing go cart but never could justify the cost. There is just no place around here to run them any more.
Post some photos of your barstool racer when you can, that sounds like fun.

We have to travel out of state now to race them ourselves, 5-3 hours to Oklahoma and Mississippi. Kind of takes the fun out of it.
I will post photos of the build as it takes shape.
Just waiting for some warmer weather so I can get out into my shop, as I'm not that dedicated due to working in the elements all week.
