Welcome. This is a great forum. I want to build me a smoker The one I have is a little small at times. Its only 20" deep by 50" long with the firebox on the side. I got some ideas for trailer mounted slow smoking monster.

there are a lot of smokers out there the important thing is air tight you want to control the air to the fire box and the air leaving the smoking chamber both need to be adjustable and lockable we're building a big one because wee need it, but also because I want it to have a vertical smoke chamber. when I get around to it I'll put picks of it on our facebook page Big Baldy's Bar-b-q if anyone is interested. if you got ideas to add I would appreciate it Im trying to make this thing a show monster!

    Hello

Hi and welcome to the Longevity Forum. On a related note I have made a smoker out of an old 4.5 foot tall air compressor tank. Looking forward to seeing your project and what you have come up with.

thanks, you know tec on working on welding equipment do you know welding ? Like which is better for strength ark or mig ? I have a friend that owns a welding shop that thinks ark is outdated but I think it is better for strength.

    Steve,

I am going to chime in, both MIG and Arc produce very strong welds. Arc or stick welds may not be as pretty as MIG welds, but with a stick welder you can weld over dirty metals and rusty metals a lot easier. Smartassicon
