Hi all,
I am just an "old guy" with a couple of new toys...a mig welder that is gas/non-gas, and a 50 amp plasma cutter. My hobby is as my login implys...I have a 56 Chevy that I am working to get back on the road. I bought the cutter and welder, because I have a couple of floorboards to cut out and weld new metal in. And a couple of patches on the outside...

I have never used these until now...have welded with coat hangers and torch, but nothing I would stake much trust into. I am rather handy at making things, and I thought that I could make a guide for the cutter using a couple of tubing cutter wheels as they are very thin...finding a holder for the torch itself is an adventure, but I am thing about PVC Tubing ? Anyway...just wanted to say "hey" and glad there are resources like this for a novice.

Hi Julio and welcome to the forum. We like pictures here so be sure to include some showing your work. Also, check out for the contest here. The odds of winning a great new Longevity machine are very good.
Sounds like you are getting the toys needed to have some great fun. The 56 Chevy in my opinion is one of the classiest cars ever built. I much prefer it over the more popular 57.

Welcome aboard. Someone here used the platter spacers from old computer hard drives to attach some spacers and wheels to the torch nozzel. If you search, you should find a picture.

Welcome.I love the 56 chevy also.I have a friend in Ohio that has one and he just put a souped up 396 in his.His is mint,looks brand new.Enjoy the forum,there's plenty of good help if needed.
