Another n00b, in Colorado

Hi,

Oh yeah, information......

In Denver Colorado, virtually no appreciable welding experience though I've melted some metal together a couple of times and it kinda stuck. I keep a kind of community garage and have a miller econotig. My friend stores his millermatic 185 mig machine here too tho I haven't used it yet. We just ordered a Longevity ForceCut 50i so we could better cut and prep stuff for welding as doing everything with cut off tools is frustrating. The garage is motorcycle /mechanically oriented, tho as an electrician and homeowner I'm fairly comfortable in all phases of construction. I also feel like welding and plasma should be an extension of working with electricity.... right?

Anyway.... um hi. I'll check in once I've actually received the unit and done a little more with that set of tools.

Is that your house you are tearing apart? I bought a very ugly house and I am tearing it apart. Thankfully I can live at my grandparents while they are in florida so I don't have to live in the construction.

Yes. We live in a continuous construction zone. I tend to prefer to take things down to stud or more then build it back up right....... The nice part is that we get what we want in the end, I get to learn stuff which is good, I get to buy tools rather than pay others to use theirs which is also good, and I know things get done right. On the downside, I'm damn slow at some things.............

Welcome aboard, how does your significant other like what you did to the bathroom, just before the Outlaws come for Christmas

I have torn up my share of houses, and wish I had pictures of my last one. I decided one summer in July to remove the roof on a one story plaster and lath money pit and add a second story. When you looked into the house from outside with the sun shining, you needed a welding hood to protect your eyes it was blinding with the white paint reflecting the sun.

Actually she started it. It hasn't been an issue as she knew what we were getting into and a fair idea of how long it could take..... just for this part. I'm just lucky that way.
