Hi Folks;
Just a short intro.
Just got a black case Weldall 200PI and in the process of familiarization.
Back in the 80's, a buddy and I built a 40 foot steel landing craft. We found someone to spend a couple of days with us to show us how to weld with our used Sears buzz box. Took 9 months to build but then we operated it as a hazardous cargo transporter.
Then I got into the movie biz where a lot of stuff was fabricated. Started out as "grinder boy" and had opportunities to weld and cut big stuff as well as small. I was always fascinated with TIG and thought plasma was cool.
Early this year I retired and took a 30 hour TIG course. I live in a place where I have access to big tools like mills, lathes horizontal and vertical band saws, cut offs and grinders etc that are mostly unused and in poor shape. I fixed up a big Miller plasma and a couple of TIG machines, Hobart Cybertig and an L-Tec but couldn't find a foot pedal. So rather than spend $150 on a footpedal to add to someone else's inventory, I bought the 200 PI.Yah, a bit drastic, but when I move I will have a mini fab package all my own.
I have had a few minor issues with the 200 but that's for other posts. I look forward to the help and experience I know is available on this site and maybe I can contribute a bit...
