Just found this site and thought I would say HI!!

    My name is Kevin Caron.

I am a sculptor by trade. Been working with welded steel since Jan. 06. Just got some Longevity welding equipment and wanted to stop by.

    My website is kevincaron.com.

Before I was doing this I was a semi-truck driver for 13 years. After getting a (at the time) big commission I went full time and 6 months later moved the studio out of the house and in to a much larger place.

I have one piece in Germany and many more scattered around the country.

I will just go stand in the back for now and get to know everyone.

Hi Kevin and welcome to the forum. We like pictures here so be sure to include some showing your work. Also, keep an eye out for the next contest here. The odds of winning a great new Longevity machine are very good. I'd like to see some photos of your sculptures.

Is there a proper place for posting photos of work?

The first photo is the one I am working on now. It is a public sculpture for the city of Chandler Az. It will be 16 feet tall by 6.5 wide. All aluminum 16ga. sheet. It will be delivered in three pieces and assembled on top of the admin. office inside the building on it's own little roof.

Just to make things interesting the roof is 12 feet up and has a 400 lb. weight limit. Oh yeah, and the front door only opens to 5.5 feet wide by 7 tall!

The second photo is the model I made for the presentation. It's steel and two feet tall.

I figure I have about 160 feet worth of bead to lay for this piece. Going to give my TigWeld 250 a work out and get really good at aluminum welding at the same time. This is my first large scale aluminum piece.

Hey Kevin what are doing? Although I am brand new here I have watched all your videos on YouTube. Thanks for all your welding tips. I am fond of your shop math find the center tip. I even watched your bike trip cross country. Enjoyed the tree art!

I'd like to get paid to run 160 ft of AL bead. I might actually get reasonably good at it with that much practice. (or maybe not) Nice looking sculpture.
