Well you can see I joined back in 2010. Been lurking and learning. Had a problem last month. I decided to build my own bumper for 91 Grand Wagoneer. I plan on building a lot of other things for it and members of my club, but I needed to re-outfit myself. So I started by buying a Everlast power plasma 60. Got it delivered the week of Christmas. Then very quickly realized my little hot dog compressor wouldn't keep up. So being an occasional user of my equipment and having a budget I went to Harbor freight and bought a 2HP 21 gallon compressor. So far very happy with it. All my air tools that I have had sitting around for the past ten years finally got to start making some again. So glad to get away from my electric impact gun. Then my old HF 22v welder decided it had enough. Off to buy a new HF 151. I can't complain really after years of getting used weekly. Bought a 75/25 tank for it and a bunch of .035 flux core and solid wire. I also have a small oxy set-up, just due to space restraints. I kkep 2 bottles because they go really fast. So on to my problem, after 4 run time hours with my plasma the torch won't light. 3 sets of consumables and nothing, and yes the swirl cup is installed. So I talked to Everlast they say send it back and they will ship out a new one. I said ok. Then thought about it and said well, if this didn't last too long, whats's the next one going to do? I beling to this site and a number of others including Pirate and IFSJA.org. After MORE reading I said screw it. Called Longevity, ordered a new 50I cutter tonite, and will be returning my Everlast for a refund. Daniel on the phone, was a great help, made me a great deal and I'm excited to get my new machine. Problem is I have this bumper onmy bench now,8x6 1/4" wall that is half cut apart for sectioning and I'm stuck going back to cut-off wheels and a sawzall. I got spoiled real quick with the short time I had that plasma running. I alo have another IFSJA members rear bumper in the garage, waiting to get done this weekend, again the old fashioned way. I'm glad this is only a side gig for me, because if my table depended on this stuff working, I'd be eating Raman noodles for the next month. Anyway, glad to be here and I love reading all the projects people have going.
