Re: Just ordered the LS 200P

    Art,

I am almost 54. I have a fully restored 1975 Triumph tr6. Its one of those cars I always wanted. I restored a 1968 Camaro, original Z-28 Rally Sport. After I finished it, I was afraid to drive it for fear of damage. So, I only went to car shows. I sold the car at an RM auction in Michigan. I have a 1966 Lincoln convertible (suicide doors) that is in great shape. I stripped it down to bare metal, repaired the body (a Florida car) and am now painting it in the original color, an egg shell white.

I also have a car with my 20 year old son, a 1977 Nova. W painted it a Cadillac pearl, installed a roll cage, and hope to go to the strip this summer. It is a 355 sbc, fully built with nitrous. Should be a lot of fun! Been a car nut my whole life.

Re: Just ordered the LS 200P

    Steve:

That's funny. I'm 62 last time I checked. Among other things , I own '72 MG Midget (not a real MG). It's a neat little car though - really low mileage, Hardtop, soft top, and tonneau. It was pretty slow, so I shaved the head, and put in a hot cam, along with removal of a couple other things to make it run a little nicer. It's still pretty slow on the highway though. Naturally it's been sitting around forever, since I've been busy doing other things.

I'm jealous of your Lincoln man. It's a really good looking car. My favourites though - I have to admit - are the 61's and 62's.
    Cheers,
    Art R.

Actually, the 61 is my favorite too. They are very unique, and hard to get parts for. I looked at a couple of them here in Michigan, but this was Lincoln's first year for unitized construction, so there is no frame. After a few years here in the rust belt, there are some areas that get weak. The ones I looked at would have required a complete disassembly, or section in a new rear. More work than I wanted! Maybe some day I will find a solid one.
