    New to TIG

    Hi All,
Worked in a steel fab plant out of high school as a "helper." Went off to college and became a teacher. Now, about 45 years later, am retired and putting together a garage shop. Have a lathe, mill (making into CNC), and recently a Longevity 200p. So far have used the ARC welder on a metal brake I'm fabricating, the plasma to cut some gussets, and just hooked up the argon yesterday to weld the stainless tubing for an air injector in the metal melting furnace I am building. Loving every minute of retirement and working in the shop. Not enough hours in the day for all the projects.

Next project is to fabricate some stainless doors for the brick BBQ in the back yard.

    Re: New to TIG

I realy like TIG welding! Like every thing else it does take practice.
When I first retired the HONEY DO list was extesive, about 2 years worth. In November 08 I started in the garage, a 160P was the first purchase of new equipment. I cant wait for the weather to warm up, so I can work in the garage.
Please post some picks of your projects.

    Hey Herb,

Welcome to the forum. Sound like your setup for a pretty exciting retirement. Im a welder and inspector of 25+ years that wants to teach.

    Have a good one.
