Here is the layout for the TIG torch stand as promised. I enlarged the handle area to accommodate split rubber tubing on the edge to keep from damaging the torch insulation. You will also need to add an inch to the bottom to be bent at a right angle to allow bolting to a magnet. Either that or weld it to an angle. I suggest making a cardboard cutout to verify your torch will fit the design before cutting metal. I used aluminum .080 thick.

I found the best way to cover the plate edges to keep from cutting the TIG torch insulation is to split some 10G electrical wire insulation along the length. Form it around the lower slot all the way around and secure it with silicone. The insulation is thin and fairly hard to protect without wearing down quickly.
