Flux-core holes start/stop

I'm running 0.35 innersheild wire. I'm getting small holes at the start/stop positions. The metal was clean. Not sure if its because i'm not starting back far enough or what. Or if the slag is causing a problem welding over it.

Part is in picture. The holes are really small i couldnt get close enough without being blurred. There is still some slag on the weld , not easy to get off.

I have no problems with flat position no stopping. Included picture.

Material doesn't look that clean really. It might just be due to the weave. Try not to weave and see what happens.

Thats possible , but i doubt it would have added to all that cause flux you can run more dirty than mig.

I'm wondering what is the procedure for flux for start/stops and weaving cause the slag gets into the weld.

The pipe or tube looks like galvanized that could be your problem. Did you clean the inside

I've never been a fan of flux core, but it does beg the question of welding over deposited flux. I know you should not do it over a stick welded bead.

Personally I absolutely hate it unless mobile in the middle of nowhere. I think the practice between passes is wire wheeling the bead or at least thats what I do.

Ran out of gas over the weekend and i had to finish up with flux core and if your painting the part you have to clean all the flux off for the paint to stick.
