    migweld 250p and a 25ft torch lead?

Anyone on here know if the migweld 250p can handle a 25ft torch lead. Will the drive motors have enough power to push the wire? I will be running solid er70s6 wire .030 or .035 dia.

keep the torch lead straight as you can or at least smooth easy arcs. No sharp kinks in it or your likely to have trouble.

A cord works great for getting the machine around.

But for me...the long whip is where it's at for getting the job done. Nothing is done on a bench. I'm building rollcages and chassis'. So it is in and out and around a jungle gym of tubing. Having enough gun to reach is critical or one ends up sacrificing good technique and position to not have to crawl out and move the machine...that's if it can be moved to reach even.

I dont want to have to drag out the welder from its spot every time I want to weld something. The little lead that comes with the machine won't even reach the other side of my welding table. plus when working on the inside of a car body the lead length disapears fast. If a 25' lead works why not use it.

15ft max. even with solid wire .035 and thats with using the "twin drive" system from miller.... the rolls will slip on the wire tryin to push that much and the first "chatter" that happens, you WILL bird nest that roll and that sucks.... thought about a spool gun for that machine? you can be 50 ft away from the power source...just sayin

Too bad I was lied to when I bought the mig weld 250p. I was told by the salesman and simon that it was spoolgun capable but its not, simon denied this. Also I dont want a spool gun, not very compact to work with. now a push pull gun that would be nice but thats ^^^^ way up there in price.

Just my experience but the 25' gun has been on my machine for about a month and a half now with good results. 1 jam but I had it in circles. Keep it reasonably free of sharp turns and no problems. Also keep drive rollers adjusted properly.
