    you can go around 15 if your inside with no wind, your c25 gas will last longer.

    30 is way high your getting turbulent flow at that point defeating the purpose of shielding gas. As for the stems your right but wrong at the same time. High pressure cylinders are not 3000 psi they are 6000psi. They double seal as do some regular presure tanks so to be safe just open them all the way EXCEPT acytelene. DON'T open that more then a quarter turn.

    I was taught the 1/4 turn thing from day one but I don't know if I was ever told why?
