    Also just ordered the LC-416D

I also just ordered the LC-416D....I was originally only interested in the 40d plasma cutter, but they have been out of stock and I just figured that for the small increase in price that I would go for the multi function unit. ( I also ordered the 80 pc. consumable pkg. )I should expect delivery next week ( July 30, 31 hopefully.) I am in Maine on the other side of the continent, so let's see how it travels... I will let y'all know what the outcome is.
I made my order in person with Simon. I feel confident that all is well. I am excited to get working with this unit. :P

Well, it's been a week today I ordered my LC-416D unit. I figured a week max shipping. Nothing yet. I've heard such good responses about quick shipping....I checked tracking and it says due on Aug.8....That's 14 days total...bummer

DHL can be slow. If the unit sits in one place for a long time it could mean DHL destroyed or damaged the box. Check it carefully when it arrives. If damaged be sure to get a damage claim. Don't process it yourself, contact Simon first. Hopefully this isn't the case but be on the lookout for damage.

From reading the post here and hearing about DHL I do plan to inspect it good. It's coming about 3500 miles also...

Thats a long time... i will try calling and checking on the unit for you. Sometimes, DHL lets the thing sit inside their place until they get a full truck. If there are any damages, please let us know right away so we can replace the unit with no hassles to you!

    Thanks

I checked tracking Fri. and it was in PA.
I just checked now and it is in R.I., so it's moving anyway. It should be here tomorrow or Wed. for sure.

Re: Also just ordered the LC-416D

I ordered a 4 x 8 sheet of 3/16 " steel. I expect it today.( $ 171...what are you paying for steel ) Two days ago I was at a friend house and they had a piece of 3/8 " x 30" x 5' outside laying on the ground, a bit rusty but still good. I asked what they were going to do with it. They said they'd sell it to me if I want it. I gave $25 for it.....so I have that also. It will make a good work table for me outside I think though rather than cutting it up....

I haven't bought steel with the exception of the material for the logo cut contest. I keep my eye open for discarded scrap steel and snag it when possible. The last batch was some metal cabinets that were tossed out. Kind of thin but still good for practicing my plasma cutting techiques.

Re: Also just ordered the LC-416D

I just picked up 3 new 55 gal drums....I got them all from a printing co. Two had ink in them, one had a cleaner of some sort. Says on the outside label not to weld or heat cut container. Says empty container is flammable. The plugs are gone from it and it had a few inches of rain water in it. I would think it would be harmless enough to cut.
