    wheeled cart for multi unit

I think I will actually get this cart ( http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/d ... umber=6650 ) .I was thinking I wanted something smaller, but now I'm thinking I can put my LC-416D multi unit on ( in ) it and also my Lincoln mini mig unit both . Will it be able to also hold two bottles of gas is the question.

    MAD4metal,
My bottle is 6.5" across. There is 15" ID on the shelves so you could squeeze two in there with about 5/8 inch to spare on all sides. You would have to put the regulators on pointing outside the cart though.

It would be tight, but I think it might work. One machine on the top shelf and another on the bottom shelf. I have a small bottle for my mig ( still 6½"dia. )and probably would get the same size for the tig. Might have to do some modification with the middle shelf height .
I did just order the cart today.... They are slow delivery though. At least 2 wks.

It really wouldn't be that heavy and ok on the concrete floor anyway. The wheels are smaller than the rig my mig is on now ,so rolling it out in the gravel/sand drive might be a minimal challenge.

Re: wheeled cart for multi unit

I have seen the table...I am blessed to have a HF 8 minutes from my house.... The wheels are a good size ( 5", but solid rubber I believe) but ...Hey... Your a welder and HF has a ton of wheels... Find a set of small pneumatic wheels and "melt em on" ... Good project. I'll be going to the store this week to get a cart myself and will work on the wheel issue...will advise what I Find ( My LS 160P is due in this week I think...got to be ready)

For you experts... Is there any type of splitting valve that could " SHARE" a single tank...with the twist of a lever, like a ball valve ?? without having to change hoses between my Mig and my LS 160 ?. I know nothing about Gas properties but it seems to me it is under pretty low pressure going to the machines... Just a thought

Re: wheeled cart for multi unit

You can not use the same tank. TIG requires 100% argon and MIG is usually 75%argon/25% carbon dioxide.
I would like to do something to change from air to gas though. There is an example given here somewhere....You'll have to look around .
Joe...I don't want smaller wheels. I want bigger wheels if anything. I actually have an assortment of many wheels. I think what on the cart will work fine.

Re: wheeled cart for multi unit

I know what you're thinking....just use 100% argon for both. I thought of that myself. I can't answer for sure. I know it does cost more for 100%. It is to be considered. I know that it goes fast. faster than I'd like. And I don't want to pay more than I have to. I plan to get a second tank. I still need a switch valve to go from air( plasma ) to tig (argon )on the same unit .....and the mig will just have it's own line on the other unit.

    Joe,
You need the 75/25 for results on the MIG. I thought the same, use straight Argon with both, but when I researched it on the web I found you don't get good results with straight argon with a MIG welder
