Miller Suitcase with a WeldAll 160pi?

If I wanted to mig weld, couldnt I just plug in a suitcase to the WeldAll. The suitcase just supplies the wire feed and control doesnt it?

the weldall is a CC machine not a CV machine yes there are special feeders that will run off a CC power source

WW, I am only guessing, but is that referring to Constant Current or Constant Voltage? Is that not compatible with a Miller Extreme 12vs?

The suitcase you listed will work on either Constant Current (CC) (stick/tig) or Constant Voltage (CV)(Mig) and any power source since it runs off of the (OCV) open circuit voltage for power and arc voltage and has its own contactor and gas valve

But if you are going to try to run NR232 .068 with it you need a 250-350 amp power supply

WW, Thanks for the attempt at explaining to a noob. I am not sure what NR232 .068 is (well I do understand the wire is .068 in dia.) I am really just trying to minimize more equipment. I have an old miller cricket and rather than spend any time or money on it. I was thinking just do the suitcase. I have an opportunity to get a very decent 1 for 500 bucks but of course it could be just a waste of money in that regards. I really dont need the portability though it wouldnt be bad but would I be served better by a dedicated machine? In all actuality a new machine wouldnt be much more expensive just larger. There are some threads I have read pertaining to the wire speed being based on some form of voltage sensing (quite possibly I could be misunderstanding the terminology). Does this mean the wire speed would fluctuate due to the possible changing of the arc and or stick out length? Does this help uniformity or does it decrease you the operators ability to control heat? I dont do much welding just yet. I dont see my future projects needing to weld anything and get more than say around .25 penetration at the most. Just some sheetmetals, tubings and plate up to 1/4" thick. Do you see a negative in combining the 2 (just a waste of money?, mediocre performance etc?) Again excuse my ignorance but you refer to it running off of OCV, does this imply it gets its power from the leads with no other electrical connections? All I see in the pictures are a ground, stinger and a smaller wire that I am assuming is for the voltage sensing.

yes with the miller extreme 12vs you dont need any external power to the unit just hook up the leads from the welder set the switches on the unit and get to welding if your running gas for shielding just hook up a bottle with a regulator
I have flux core welded and Mig welded with this feeder i love it
NR 232 is a flux cored wire for structural welding
i have ran .035 solid mig wire thru this feeder with no issues
yes the small wire goes on the work for voltage sensing
