I ended up buying a used Metal Band Saw and yes it is geared way down and you can't stop it. I use the delta for cutting wood a lot, it is much better than my craftsman and I wanted to have another one for metal.

Well that's gud iski... a purpose built tool is generally best at what it's intended for.
(I'm using a wood bandsaw to cut my copper.)
Fellow I know has an old horz metal saw up for grabs at $60, but I think it's too much $'s for an old dog that is probably not even a standard blade.
