    HOBART 205 stickmate

Local feed store is a Hobart dealer and they have a new 205 stickmate marked down to $279.95 and I wandering if anyone on here has/had/used one?I noticed that it listed from Hobart's site for a $100 over that.Just kind of looking to upgrade down the road.

    Tks,Gene

gene, the hobart stickmate is a "baby miller" hobarts of today are made in the same plant as miller machines except they use lesser parts. they are the homeowner line of machines... i have an OLD hobart back before hobart got bought out by miller and its a rod burnin f00... ican say that this hobart will run like the miller thunderbolt in arc characteristics and all. you would be mildly surprised at the stick capabilities of it, however, you will not like the power usage... the old transformer based machines are power hungry lil devils!!! makes that lil meter on the side of yer house spin like a helicopter tryin to take off
