    Question problem with Ramsond ct520dy

I got a ramsond ct520dy from a friend, asking me to repair his 3-1 welding machine.I am a tv technician but never repaired a welding machine before.I noticed the digits are dim.
I measured the mosfets and dual diodes without luck.I requested a troubleshooting chart from distributor but didn't receive response.Could anyone guide me through this ?
    Thanks

Hi 4Service and welcome to the forum. We like pictures here so be sure to include some showing your work. Also, keep an eye out for the next contest here. The odds of winning a great new Longevity machine are very good.
I can't help you with the diagnostics but maybe someone here can. Hope you find the info you're looking for. These machines are quite complex and most of them with problems get sent back to the vendor and if the warranty is good the unit is replaced. If you don't find the info you need you might tell your friend to check with Simon here on the Longevity forum. He may be willing to offer an upgrade price on a Longevity unit.

Got a picture of the unit? I'd give simon a call see if he has experience in this type of failure. You have to figure out where the voltage drop is coming from, backtrack, their is also some yahoo groups on import 3 in 1 welders. Most common problem is the mosfets, their long leads shorting out.Does any section work say tig/welder work ok and maybe plasma/one or the other?or complete failure.Fan run?

    Help is here

We can help you out. Give us a call as we have a licensed repair center that can and may be able to get your unit working. At the very least, we can offer some advice.

The owner of Ramsond is a lawyer and he should know that he is legally obligated to help out!

You should add a service tab on the Resources drop down and include this information. There are a lot of machine owners like 4Service's friend that have other machines but no support when service is required.
