I think Simon has better quality control and I am certain he has better support.
I must say to be fair though, I have never used any of the other brands mentioned .

Just to add to the posts. There are over 200 factories in China that produce welding and mostly are trading companies. The factory that does business with Longevity is exclusive. They only produce for us and several other companies around the world per our contract. We insure quality because we not only import the most, but we have a lot of say in product improvement.

    Thanks for considering us.

If I had a bunch of extra cash I think it would be interesting to buy a whole bunch of chinese inverter welders / plasma cutters and take them apart and see what is different physically. It seems like every company that sells chinese welders / plasma cutters claims to be the best factory making their machines.

I personally chose Longevity because they seemed to have the best support and was able to call them up and talk to a helpful person. I am confident that I will be able to get a working combo unit from Longevity. I just hope that they will be around in 5 years if my welder breaks. I am sure they would like to be around but who knows what will happen they are still a fairly new company.

    Matteh99,
I have faith Longevity will be around five years and many more. The reason, in my opinion is that for all the imports the biggest factor in purchase decisions is customer support and I think Longevity has by far the strongest support.
Product quality is also a big factor. I have seen the influence Simon has on the factory when he demands changes in the design to improve the product. In many cases the changes he has demanded and gotten were from feedback from the customers. He listens and makes sure the good suggestions get implemented.

    Hello,

First, thank you all for the support - we pride ourselves from good customer support.

As far as the factories, there are over 100 in China that produce welding equipment, including some major ones that the government uses. We signed an exclusive deal with a factory and they only produce for us in the USA. There are a lot of trading companies as well supplying a lot of sellers and the quality of those units are junk, which brings down our name as well because of similar looking machines.

We have quality control and I personally have been to China insuring the products are well made. I have been to over 20 factories personally before the contracts were in place. In fact, you can see on here that some customers used to have other brand units and switched because of quality not to mention we pick up the phone when there is a problem.

In the future, Longevity is working on a patented look to give us uniqueness and separate us from the rest of the imports.

Thank you all for your support,

    Simon

My first plasma cutter was a Lincoln, I was about to purchase my second one from Miller, when I happened on this site. I posted some questions on the site, purchased a mask as a test, then purchased a Force Cut 80I. I would not have made the purchase if someone at longevity did not answer the phone and talk prior to the sale. I was impressed with the support and blown away by the performance. Yes little items like the free water separator could be better, but if I feel the need for a better one, I can afford to buy a really nice one for the $1,300.00 dollars I saved on the initial cost.
