    Having a little problem with my plasma cutter.

    I am running my Weldall 200PI on my CNC table and ran into a new problem today. Every once in awhile, the cutter would make a cut and when it was finished with the cut, the torch would turn off, but the air kept blowing from the torch head, which would then prevent the torch from firing at the next cut. The only way I could get the air to shut off was when I would squeeze the torch trigger a couple of times, until I heard a switch in the machine make contact, then I could release the trigger and the air would shut off. I am running electronics from CandCNC and they all check out fine. I think the problem is in the plasma cutter, but I'm not sure where. I don't really want to send the cutter in to be serviced, I am hoping maybe one of you guys could help.

    How is the cutter getting the torch on/off signal. Do you have the torch trigger connected at the same time a CNC relay is connected? If so disconnect the torch trigger wires and see if that helps.

    I had the same problem with my 200pi. I found that the post flow must be a zero, or very close to zero.
    Hope this is the problem,,,,,

    You know, I think the post flow answer might actually fix it. I think I will give it a shot. If that doesn't work, I am going to tear apart the torch and disconnect the trigger. Thanks guys!

    Well, I fixed the issue I had with the air staying on after a cut and it was the air solenoid inside the machine. The solenoid uses a little coil compression spring that is about the same size as what you might find in a ball point pen and it was getting too weak to shut off the air flow. I took the solenoid apart and stretched the spring a little bit and now it works like a charm.
