    Plasma cutting - 160P

What exactly are the knob settings on a 160P when using the plasma function?
I got it to cut, but when I was cutting some panels (painted) out of a car the arc would start but only for a split second then quit.
I've seen on the forum that guys are cutting through rust and paint, what am I doing wrong

Be sure your metal is well grounded. Once the arc starts it should maintain. The arc force knob has an affect on the voltage, the peak current will adjust the current of the cut.

Here is a link to a good spreadsheet on all the knobs of the multifunction units
A great spreadsheet for MultiFunction Units.

Here is a link with photo for the function of all knobs.
    Hope this helps.
