Is no chance of messing the machine/torch up doing this in AC mode and on older machines?

I checked out a Thermo Dynamics Pak 5xr and it has AC and DC cutting capability. I was previously under the impression that plasma cutting was DC only, but I guess it's common for higher end machines to have both DC and AC as a cutting option. Although I'm curious to find out if the WeldAll machines were built with this in mind or like Vault has mentioned, I wonder if the AC cutting might damage the WeldAll machine in some way?
