? how to add cable for "no contact" start for plasma cut "

I know I saw it here somewhere and now I've looked through every post I think and I can't find it again. I'm looking for the method to connect cable to positive and work piece so you don't have to use contact start for a plasma cut. Can someone redirect me to that. There were photos also. I can't remember whos post it was even....

    Mad4,
I pulled the post due to safety concerns. It was pointed out to me that if you were to accidentally bump the trigger when a body part is in the cut path it would not turn out well. Think about it and what it might do, that scared the bejeebers out of me.
If you are going to use the cutter in a CNC table that is different.
I have still got the post up on the weldingweb forum in the Longevity area if you want to do this for CNC. I would STRONGLY suggest you not do this for hand held operations.

Well, at least I know I'm not going crazy. It was there. I had thought about those safety concerns. That is why I wanted to reread that and see if that might work for me. I like the idea of being able to start a cut without having to touch the metal to get the arc started. Maybe I will leave it alone though....

I know Hypertherm got a stand off start, I used it to heat exhust manifold nut as it in confined area with oil around so you want a small flame.
Some peoples, what ever you tell them they got no idea!!
2 days ago, A kid was trying to weld bed frame without a mask, in short sleeves, no gloves, beach sandal, standing in squat position, with woman & children around watching him!!
When I told him not to weld without mask, him & his dad just answered " we just don't have mask"
I lend him my spare one till he get one & some pointer about his family would be very small if he keep welding in that position.
