Tried to cut something thick with my 40I

I was looking in my pile o stuff to find something thick to try to cut. I found this piece of railroad something or other. I forgot to measure it so I'm not sure how thick it is but it is thicker than what I will usually need to cut. The 40I just went through it like nothing - I was amazed. The cut is also relatively smooth so I'm guessing it would be able to cut stuff that is a good bit thicker.

I have heard that on mosfet featured units their is more pronounced lines runing perpendicular to the cut direction than on the new units featured with IGBT's,(always thought lines were from movement) and IGBT's have less dross, in any case that is a very good cut, is it an inch?

It is 5/8" and I cut it in about 10 seconds or so.
