got to play with the 80i

    WOW!
man got to fire up the 80i, and let me tell you guys, that is one awesome Unit.
(now I don't want to give it to my friend, but I still will)
From the LP-80D and the 80i it is night and day
did straight through pierced 5/8" steel and 1/2"Aluminum. like I said I was just screwing off to see how it worked did that a few times, cut some 1" steel and Aluminum. 3/16 steel was was like butter and it did not care about the speed same with AL.
also noticed the Aluminum had really nice cut edges, just can't wait to see how it matches up with the Hypertherm 1000 on the PlasmaCam, I know the Hypertherm is going to walk away with the Fine cut but I think the 80i is going to favor in all other areas.
I blasted away for about an hour this that and what ever else was there that I could try with it, same tip and electrode, the LP-80D whould have ate up at least 3 tip for sure if not more.
now I am so glad I orderd the 60i for the house.
as soon I get a longer torch we are going to do a better review and video with the 80i
    mounted to the plasmaCam

it really is a nice cutter, tom.... i know that my old thermal dynamics cutmaster 51 was no comparison to the 80I.... (other than amperage difference) the 80I is a beast compared. soon, very soon, i will have a CNC table here and i have a whole bunch of 1 1/4 steel to cut out..... prolly a solid month worth of cutting at 10 hour days...lol.... ima put the 80I to the test.

    just sayin.....

Tom, I have only used mine to fool around with, but it is a beast. I almost never cut more than 3/8ths. I would not even want to lift a plate of 1-1/4 up onto the table.
