After a little more tweaking with the cut path I got bold and used the good metal and made the cut for the actual finished part. Turned out quite well I think. No warping nice small kerfs and it cleaned up fairly easily.
Now on to the compass points and swivel mount. I think I will air brush the unit when I get it all welded up. The part is just under 19" long and 9" high.

The kerf on this is really small. I doubt you could ever get that small with an O/A torch.

Very nice. Looks a bit like an early Harley gone cafe. I like it. ^_^
Been a long while since I opened the little red tool box with the model paint, but pretty sure I had some translucent bottles (like a clear pearl) that'd look great over a base white/yellow for a "glass" headlight.
Full hand tool assortment, collecting sheet metal hammers/dollies, more time than money.

Nick, it's a 1936 Harley, good call on the period. I had a 47 years ago and sure wish I still had it. I loved the springer front end and hard tail.
