Magnetic Circle Cutter
Magnetic Circle Cutter
I had an old canera tripod that I modified for a traming tool about 25 years ago. Like many people I don't throw any thing away unless it is totaly shot. So I modified the old tool for a new one. Old Junk into new junk!!
Parts list
1) Old camera trypod
2) HF Magnetic ground block 30754
3) 2" dia x 3/4 long al stock
4) 3/8 - 16 bolt 1/2 long
5) 3/8 flat washer Q 2
6) 1/4 20 x 1 bolt & lock washer
7) Nut from a 3/4" diaelectric union (Plasma torch holder)
The tool will adjust from 4 in to 127 in. Much more than I will EVER use!
The legs from the trypod screw together to get to the max length
I added the roller assembly as a after thought. When the leg(s) is extended it tends to sag. the roller maintaines the correct plasma to work distance.
The 1/4 bolt is for non magnetic material. Drill a 1/4 in hole for center
Sorry, only two welds for the entire project. Some lath work on the swing nuckle, and trypod legs.
