    cut through paint ok

    is is alright to cut through paint and rust?

    If you have the pilot arc torch starting the cut shouldn't be a problem. If you have a standard torch you should have a clean metal starting area but then can go through paint and rust.

    The only problem I have had is with powder coated metal. It does not seam to work to well.

    When cutting thru powder coating, I've found that just scoring the paint with a scribe or knife improves the performance greatly.
