I wear a cloth work glove like we wear for everything here in the oilfield. The ones I weld in just have a heavy stiff cuff like a welding glove instead of the woven cuff. If I get into some serious overhead I have some regular leather welding gloves but for most things they are to heavy and hot.

I know this an old thread. Tilman TIL32 are one of my favorite pigskin gloves for mig/tig at around $10/pr. MCR (memphis glove) 49610 are one of the more durable gloves I think due to the way they are constructed. The seams fall in a different area than most and I find them very comfortable mig/tig for less than $8 many places.

I have been using my pair of till mans for quite a while now and they are still pretty good at the moment. It has almost been 6 years since I got them and they are looking to hold onto it for an even longer time. Any type would be good though as long as they are thick and heavy enough. You might as well get some help from the guys in there just to be sure.
