Gas sales is a local game, you better shop it and not just take your local weld supply as the best place though in many cases they are. Prices in my area of Houston can vary almost 50%, it's amazing. I have a large lws who sells lots of commercial accounts and has their own large liquid gas storage, look for a seller that has the large tanks out back with steam coming off their evap heaters when filling tanks, they will be the lowest cost. Last time for argon I paid $18 for an 80 and $22 for my 120 tanks. So it's all about service not gas cost. I think tractor supply charges 30 plus for their small tanks. Same goes with buying tanks, check around for sure.

It is and it isn't priced per cf it's complicated. They cost more for the small ones becouse most places don't have large liquid tanks and pumps to pump into the tanks. Therefore they have to truck them in and you get more bang for your buck by trucking in larger cylinders due to the size so they cost more.

Just pure argon unless you welding titanium or something else special.

Nope titanium needs pure argon. Only thick aluminum needs some helium added. Or dc aluminum needs uhp helium.

Argon will weld any metal. Other precautions must be made for titanium tho.
