pressure is pressure.... the regulator turns pressure into flow and it regulates flow.... as you siphon the bottle, the pressure drops, but the flow will remain constant. keith is correct in sayin that whether th bottle is a 80 or 300, the pressure is the same when filled... roughly between 2700 to 3200 psi, but it isnt measured in psi when they fill the bottle. ambient temperature WILL play a big role in the actual psi of the bottle contents. they are filled similar to a propane tank by pounds or cubic foot, i guess volume would be the best word to describe that.

if your regulator will only allow a small amount of flow through, then there are 3 things to look at... first: bottle's empty second: obstruction either in the regulator, hose or bottle valve... third: you gotta bad diaphragm in the regulator or a bad spring pushing the diaphragm.

if youre using a flow meter that is measured in cfh, then put it around 12 to 15 cfh and you should be welding the world together 2 pieces of metal at a time... hope that helps

Dan, the red numbers on the round gauge goes to 4000 psi. the black are kg/cm2 goes to 280 and the out put is in CFH
so it will work for your tank, hope this helps you

P.S. Dan if it turn out to be a bad regulator let me know, I am sure I have another around here somewhere that I could send you.
and if I don't, I do have two connected that I use and I could send one of those to you

    Tom,
The one you sent me works perfectly. My original one suddenly quit working properly and now only allows 5LPM thorugh it even with no hose connected to it on the outflow side.
    Thanks again,
    Dan

I checked my new bottle pressure today and it shows just under 2500PSI. Of course it is COLD out there right now so that might cause the pressure reading to be a bit low.

well Dan, I get my gas at GTS-Welco and my refills have never been over 2100 PSI, and the same with most shops I visit around here
I guess thats how they handle overhead
