Cold Wire Feeder

Well after much research i have come to the conclusion that i am going to build my own
should be about 100-200$ in supplies when it is all said and done

I have sourced a wire drive motor and rollers for about 17-30$
motor speed control board for about 16-30$
Going to use a tweeco Liner for the stinger covered with a nylon tube with room for 2 wires for the on off switch and most likely machine up a aluminum handle for the end with a switch pod
Still need to source a 12v dc power supply but a computer one might just do the trick
some sheet metal to make up a case and spool holder

will see how this goes i just dont like the over 1g price tag on them for what they are

Where did you get the speed controller, or is it just a...looking for the right word but can't remember, potentiometer?Gonna use ck worldwide torch?

It is going to be a hand Held cold stinger for now but i can machine up some fixtures for it to be torch mounted later would work with any torch really just have to change the diameter of the sleeve that holds it
The control is just a potentiometer with some diodes and resisters and a cap

Sounds like a good idea. You mention an aluminum handle, Ware will the handle go? Use caution if it can become electrified.

the liner has a non conductive cover over it plus the wire is Cold i am going to prototype in alum since i have it handy" round stock fall off "
will prolly use some delron roundstock once i get some scrap
